'Rupak' is the name of a seven bit rhythm cycle taal in North Indian Classical Music.
Rupak School of World Music (Rupak), a not-for-profit organization based in Los Angeles, was founded by Pandit Swapan Chaudhari in 2006. Rupak’s mission is to promote Indian heritage and cultural diversity through the medium of music.
Engaging the community at-large is the major focus of Rupak's current activities. This includes organizing concerts (featuring reputed classical music artists from India), music workshops, lecture demonstrations and conducting regular tabla classes in the greater Los Angeles area.
