" RUPAK " is a name of a seven bit rhythm cycle taal in North Indian Classical Music.
Rupak been formed in Kolkata, India in the year 2002 to promote North Indian Classical Music in India and Abroad.
The key factor for making Rupak was to hold concerts, workshops, seminars, music competitions in a major city namely Kolkata in India. The members are mostly music students, musicians, renowned personalities and music educated people. Rupak organized several small, medium and big concerts throughout the years since formation. Now finally Rupak branch out in Los Angeles, USA as his first city of operation in the field of North Indian Classical Music and in bigger form in World Music Scenario.
The founder members of Rupak are non other than world reputed musicians, music teachers, music students, music lovers, doctors and educationists. Being the first year of operation in US, Rupak has plans to promote visiting classical artists of repute from India and abroad, organizing lecture-demonstrations, workshops and regularly having full fledged music teaching as a music school activities by professional, reputed and educated teachers from India. And also to bring qualified teachers from India of North Indian Classical field to teach in Los Angeles as his primary city of operation and eventually to the other states of USA.
